Transformational Yoga Teacher Training: More Than Just the Yoga

Welcome to Living Soul Institute, a soul sanctuary from the noise and pressure of life. I’m happy you’re here and interested in teaching yoga.

You’ve probably already experienced yoga as more than just physical. Maybe it helped you feel safe and reconnect with yourself again. Maybe you felt God’s presence with you on the mat and wonder why being present to the gift of life feels so challenging.

In a culture of traditions and expectations, you’re hungry for
REAL intimacy with God. You desire an authentic, uninhibited relationship that meets you in the mess and embodies Jesus’ easy yoke and light burden.

And you're eager to lead others from that abundance.

You’re in the right place, and I’m so glad you’re here. I invite you to stay curious.

“Being in my forties and a busy mother of three, LSI offered the grace I needed to work through the program while keeping up with my other responsibilities. Not only do I feel well equipped and so excited to begin my yoga teaching journey, but I’ve also experienced profound growth in my heart and soul. This experience truly has been so much more than just the yoga.”

– Marcy, church ministry leader (RYT 500)

Yoga Teacher Training Programs Overview

We offer a progression of three Christ-centered, accredited yoga teacher trainings:

Each training builds on the last, equipping you to teach confidently in your unique strengths and flowing from your own lived healing.

Participating in Your Own Transformation:

As you slow your life, move your body, and experience the Breath of Life, your soul comes alive! A Living Soul.

You can’t be present with God with a dysregulated nervous system. But yoga creates a safe space to intersect day-to-day reality with your developing understanding of God.

Supported by a safe community, you can finally name and release your hidden pain into God’s careful hands. You enjoy deep communion with the Holy Spirit, and your whole being feels free and light again.

A wounded healer, you lead from your own redemption, humbly bearing witness to other souls and inviting them to engage in their own unique healing with Jesus.

“I’m a better yogi, teacher, coach, wife, mom, and human after my time and training in this community.”

– Rebecca, corporate wellness coach (RYT 500)

Is Our Christ-Centered Yoga Teacher Training for You?

God didn’t design us to live disconnected from ourselves, the world, or His Spirit.

Our Christian yoga teacher training could be a great fit if you resonate with any of the following:

  • You are in a life transition, maybe even stuck and unsure how to step into your God-given purpose.

  • Your life is full, but you want to lay down the badge of busyness.

  • You’re usually the one others rely on, but struggle to invest in yourself.

  • You carry ongoing grief, stress, or tension.

  • You want to be more present in your body, mind, spirit, and life.

  • You long to move through life with deeper peace and awareness of God’s presence.

  • You seek intimacy with God beyond traditional church experiences.

  • You feel isolated and desire a deep, authentic community to belong to.

We like to say, “Let it begin with me.”

You can’t lead others where you haven’t first gone yourself. That transformation that begins with the renewing of your mind in God’s presence. (Romans 12:2)

Remember,
you are God’s vessel, made for such a time as this.

"Our deepest calling is to grow into our own authentic selfhood, whether or not it conforms to some image of who we ought to be. As we do so, we will not only find the joy that every human being seeks; we will also find our path of authentic service in the world."

– Parker Palmer

Hi, I'm Kristin.

Like many of you, yoga practice became my safe place in a stormy season. It helped me bridge the gap between what I believed about God, myself, and others and the reality of what I experienced in daily life.

For over 23 years, I’ve taught thousands of classes and trained over 1,000 yoga teachers, guiding spiritual formation across a wide range of populations and settings.

Since founding Living Soul Institute, it’s been my greatest joy watching students’ souls come alive as they discover deeper freedom in Christ. Supported by a life-long community, they step out as vibrant, humble leaders, multiplying the light wherever God leads them.

Our faith-based yoga programs offer far more than just teacher certifications. They help you move from overwhelm to overflow, reshaping your marriage, family, work, and daily habits. You finally come home to your true self as God’s beloved.

“Kristin embodies the strength, wisdom, and graciousness required to inspire and develop students to become effective yoga teachers themselves. Her inclusiveness of all levels and her commitment to the students was clear from Day 1.”

– Carole, retired Earth scientist (RYT 200)

“This wasn’t just about yoga as a practice, it was about people, awareness, and honoring the “living soul” in each individual. I highly recommend this program to anyone looking for a training program that goes beyond the surface and into something truly holistic and impactful.”

– Lisa, accountant (RYT 500)

Can Christians Practice Yoga?

This is an important and common question.

We approach this topic with humility and respect for both our faith in the Trinitarian God and the origins of yoga.

We are followers of the way of Jesus who practice Christ-centered yoga as a discipline of embodied awareness, prayer, and spiritual formation.

In Matthew 22:37-38, Jesus calls us to love the Lord with all our heart, soul, mind, and strength. The practice of yoga is one way we can live that out, engaging our whole being in the presence of God so that we may love Him, others, and ourselves well.

We don’t believe that following God requires withdrawing from the world around us. Jesus met people in the middle of their everyday lives, sharing meals, attending weddings, and being present in space outside of religious institutions.

We recognize yoga as an ancient tradition with roots in a culture and philosophy beyond our own, and we approach it with humility, gratitude, and respect. We do not seek to appropriate or erase its origins, but honor the wisdom it carries for mental, physical, and nervous system health, while practicing in a way that authentically aligns with our Christian faith.

For us, faith-based yoga is a space where mind, body, and spirit integrate into God’s presence, and where we can nurture our formation in Christ through breath, movement, stillness, and prayer.

We don’t feel the need to defend one or the other, but simply hold to our personal testimonies of Jesus meeting us on the yoga mat.

We believe God can meet you here, too.

“This Christian yoga training illuminated how God can use even the quietest moments to help others meet themselves and Him in their pain. It’s shown me that walking alongside others doesn’t mean fixing their discomfort, but holding compassionate space while they discover that God is already there.”

– Samantha, holistic veterinarian and yoga teacher (RYT 200)
